Tunnels series is a must for me, it was one of the first series I read, so it does hold a special place. It follows the path of a boy looking for his lost father into a world tucked away beneath our own, and has elements taken from different theories, folk tales and conspiracies to create a world beyond our own, that is just as old, and even more bizarre. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
